Kakan

A village has a tradition where every twelve years, a child is born who produces flower seeds. Maki, a twelve-year-old, is one such child and is therefore restricted from leaving the village. He has feelings for Minoru, a traveling merchant. When Minoru informs Maki that his travel plans have changed and they will not meet for a while, Maki pleads with him to take him along.
