Alchemy operates on the principle of equivalent exchange, where obtaining something requires sacrificing an equal value. This practice involves deconstructing and reassembling objects into new forms, guided by strict alchemical laws. The Philosopher's Stone is a rare artifact that allows alchemists to bypass these limitations. Edward Elric, a skilled alchemist, suffered a tragic accident years earlier, resulting in the loss of his younger brother, Alphonse, and one of his legs. To preserve Alphonse's soul, Edward sacrificed an arm and bound it to a suit of armor. Their journey to reclaim their lost bodies leads them in pursuit of the Philosopher's Stone. Some episodes were adapted from the light novel "Fullmetal Alchemist: The Land of Sand."
