The Cockpit

A Luftwaffe pilot faces a moral dilemma as he must decide whether to protect a bomber carrying Germany's last hope for victory—an atomic bomb—or allow it to be destroyed to prevent global catastrophe. His decision is further complicated by the presence of the woman he loves on board. Meanwhile, a Japanese ensign prepares for a one-way mission, piloting a rocket-propelled bomb destined for death on August 6, 1945. In another story, two soldiers struggle to reach an air base to keep a promise, uncertain whether their mission still holds relevance in the shifting tides of war.
