Osaka dreams of Chiyo flying with pigtails as propellers, but panics when removing them causes Chiyo to collapse, leading Osaka to attach the pigtails to herself and fly away. Tomo dreams of being a heroic high school student who wins beauty contests and scores full marks while Chiyo and Yomi fail. Sakaki dreams of meeting Chiyo, who introduces a cat identifying himself as Chiyo-Father, followed by an invitation to dinner with them. Kaorin dreams of being rescued by Sakaki from the yakuza. Her dream ends when her mother wakes her for a New Year's shrine visit. Upon assembling, the group realizes Chiyo appeared in their dreams. Yomi joins them, eager to ask Chiyo about her role in each dream.
