Nov 14, 2021In October 2032, Elle awakens in a vehicle near Los Angeles with amnesia and a black lotus tattoo. After a gang attack triggers a memory of her name, she seeks refuge at Doc Badger’s shop. Doc refuses to hand her over to the attackers, then agrees to help unlock her encrypted data device if she stops the gang. Elle defeats the gang, killing their leader, which causes a flashback of a past killing. Doc cannot decode the device but directs Elle to an upstairs neighbor. They find Joseph drunk on his couch, who may be able to assist with the mystery.

Bannister reveals she is a replicant, prompting a fight. Elle asserts her humanity, overpowers him, and kills him by dropping him from the balcony. At Wallace Company headquarters, Niander Wallace Jr. faces criticism for slow memory development progress before Wallace Sr. learns of Bannister's death. Officer Alani Davis arrives at the scene, notices Elle's tattoo, but allows her to leave to investigate. Later, a police officer chases Elle in an alley, but she escapes. She suffers a vivid flashback of being hunted in the desert with other replicants before Joseph appears and shoots her, incapacitating her.

Elle reaches Doctor M’s office, where she is subdued and restrained to a memory-viewing machine. Doctor M and Goodman analyze her memories, noting discrepancies and external implantation. Elle breaks free, but Doctor M shoots Goodman when she grabs him. A bullet damages the machine, releasing smoke that allows Elle to attack Doctor M. She forces him to reveal that Niander Wallace Sr. orchestrated the Doll Hunt. Guards enter, and Elle kills Doctor M and incapacitates them. Goodman confirms the truth about Wallace Sr. and validates Elle’s memory of her boyfriend by the pool.

Meanwhile, Marlowe flies his spinner to Joseph's apartment. Joseph, who has developed feelings for Elle and is protecting her, opens fire on Marlowe. Meanwhile, Joseph enters the replicant manufacture room to plant explosives. Wallace Jr. leaves the fight to find Joseph, who has collapsed. Wallace Jr. monologues about replacing humanity, and Joseph feigns holding a detonator. Wallace Jr. takes it as Elle pursues Water Lily. After a brutal scuffle where Elle seems victorious, Wallace Jr. embraces Water Lily, calls her flawed, and fatally stabs her. Elle tries to kill Wallace Jr. again but fails. He offers her a place by his side; she withdraws her sword, then instantly slashes his eyes. Joseph apologizes, but Elle says good memories outweigh pain. She retrieves the detonator for Joseph, but he pushes her out, seals himself inside, and detonates the explosives, seemingly killing himself. One month later, Officer Davis returns to work in a wheelchair. A blind Wallace Jr. assures his secretary that the company will not be set back despite his father's death and his own vision loss. He states he sees limitless possibilities. Doc Badger searches Joseph's apartment for him but finds only Elle's sword. Elle leaves Los Angeles, driving into the desert on Joseph's motorbike.
