Ep. 43: Candy encounters Mark at the lake while spying on Terry and Eleanor Baker

Candy attends summer school near Edinburgh and meets Mark, a shepherd boy who claims recognition. She finds him at Grandchester summer house, where he lives as the servant's son under Terry's care. After spending hours with Mark and his mother, Candy returns to find Sister Margaret displeased but appeased by cheese. Annie and Patricia inform her that Archibald and Alistear are staying nearby with Eliza and Neil, planning to row the next day. Uninterested in the outing, Candy spends the night spying on Terry’s room with binoculars and spots Eleanor Baker. The following day, while the Cornwell boys row their girlfriends, Candy visits Terry again. She encounters a weeping Eleanor, but Terry denies her presence and speaks harshly while shearing a stubborn sheep, implying punishment for an abandoning mother.
