Terry arrives and returns Susanna to bed, while Candy processes the emotional weight of the situation. Unable to explain himself, Terry watches Candy leave for Chicago that night. He chases her to the station, holding her tightly in a desperate embrace. Candy departs knowing she must go, while Terry asks her to promise happiness. As Candy walks through the snow, Terry watches from the window, telling Susanna he chose her through his actions, marking the end of their happy days in London.
