Ko pitches high velocity while Aoba recalls past trauma during extra innings
Mar 21, 2010Ko strikes out Mishima with high 90s mph pitches but regrets not throwing a promised 100 mph fastball to Aoba. Oikawa’s line drive attempt is caught by Ko in the eighth inning. Ryuo scores in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game 1 to 1, forcing extra innings. In the top of the 10th, Azuma hits a triple, and Oikawa intentionally walks Akaishi and Ko to load the bases with no outs. Seishu’s final three batters fail to hit, stranding the runners. Azuma warns Ko to prevent Mishima from reaching base to stop Ryuo’s momentum. Mishima hits a hard line drive to first, which Azuma barely catches. Aoba recalls Ko crying after Wakaba’s death. In the top of the 12th with two outs, Ko hits a home run while remembering his success in the Tsukishima batting cages.

Ko secures victory for Seishu and shares a romantic moment with Aoba before Koshien
Mar 28, 2010In the bottom of the 12th inning, Seishu leads 2 to 1. A tired Ko pitches all out on Akaishi's advice. With two outs and a runner on first, Mishima bats. Ko walks Mishima after a full count, throwing what Junpei calls the fastest pitch of the day, shocking Aoba and Mishima. Aoba watches Ko strike out the final batter, recalling his promises to reach Koshien, pitch 100 mph, and his love for her. Post-game, Ko hugs Aoba, who slaps him, claims to hate him more than anyone, and cries. Before traveling to Koshien, Akaishi visits Akane in the hospital, and Nakanishi consoles Azuma. Aoba and Ko meet at a station cafe, discussing Wakaba and Akane. Aoba drags Ko to the platform by the hand. When Ko asks how long they will hold hands, she replies he can let go if he dislikes it. The credits show Ichiyo Tsukishima and Junpei Azuma getting married.
