Ep. 21: Misa meets Rem and identifies Higuchi as the third Kira while L grows suspicious.

After meeting Misa, the third Kira targets her. While Misa takes a break from the Yotsuba Group, Rem contacts her. Although Misa can see the shinigami, touching the Death Note fragment Rem brought does not restore her memories of being the second Kira. Rem explains the recent events and warns Misa to trust Light to avoid death. Upon returning to the room, Misa identifies Kyosuke Higuchi as the third Kira. She goes on a date with him and secures proof that he is the criminal L is hunting. Her effortless deduction of Kira’s identity raises L’s suspicion, as he was unable to reach the same conclusion himself.
