Light and L devise a plan to contact Reiji Namikawa, who agrees to act as a spy and delay killings by discussing them during meetings. L plays mind games with Light, revealing continued suspicion that Light is the first Kira. Subsequently, L questions Misa and requests her infiltration of the Yotsuba Group to gather information. Soichiro expresses concern that capturing all members simultaneously will be difficult even if sufficient information is obtained through these methods.
