Ep. 3: Miaka seeks the Suzaku Seven to return home while Nuriko flirts with Tamahome.
Miaka dreams of her brother but wakes to Tamahome, who offers to be her honorary sibling and reminds her that the Suzaku power can help her return home. Hotohori explains that seven individuals bear the names of southern constellations, and their union grants the priestess Suzaku's strength. Miaka attempts to provoke these warriors, believing they would not harm her, but they cause a building to collapse. Tamahome shields Miaka from debris, injuring her leg, and nearly dies holding up the structure until Nuriko, one of the Suzaku Seven, rescues them with superhuman strength. Nuriko kisses Tamahome, prompting Miaka to become her maid to gain favor. Nuriko complicates Miaka's tasks and flirts with Tamahome, causing Miaka distress. Tamahome eventually escapes Nuriko to comfort a depressed Miaka and tend to her wound.
