Ep. 5: Kaibutsu confronts Jerome and the dogs over human betrayal and genetic torture
A helicopter arrives at Gajou carrying a scientist previously attacked by Kaibutsu. The creature leaps out, scaring away dogs, and confronts Jerome about supporting humans despite his man-eating nature. Kaibutsu recalls his past as a tortured genetic experiment, claiming he lost all positive feelings. Jerome asserts that humans are dogs' best partners. GB, Ken Kagetora, Weed, and Mel attack Kaibutsu, who repels them. Jerome's group lures him while Robert, Rocca, and Heuler inflict a chest wound but are killed. Jerome bites Kaibutsu's arteries while Weed holds him. Kaibutsu threatens Kagetora, but Jerome attacks again. Kaibutsu pulls Jerome into a gorge, biting his ribs, and climbs the cliff edge. Kagetora mentions Akatora's death to provoke Kaibutsu, who throws Jerome down. Enraged, Ken, Kagetora, and Weed push Kaibutsu off the cliff as they fall, realizing their landing position is fatal.
