Queen Tekkei informs Princess Abi that Saint Hijiri hinders Naraku, who is avoiding a neighboring castle. The noblewoman grows suspicious of Kohaku, who has been ordered by Naraku to live peacefully there. Meanwhile, Kagura is instructed by Hakudoshi to follow Princess Abi to the castle. Phoenix demons attack the warlords stationed there. Naraku commands Kohaku to protect The Infant. Inuyasha confronts Princess Abi again, revealing her plan to betray Naraku. Kohaku ensures the noblewoman's safety by rescuing her from the phoenix demons.
