Arima conceals his discovery of Yukino's true nature at school, using it as leverage to make her complete his tasks. He also hides his own true identity. After treating her to dinner, he finds her asleep in the classroom following kendo practice. Yukino realizes she has fallen in love with him, prompting others to notice her change. She decides to stop doing his work, believing he was merely using her, and runs out of the classroom after declaring she is finished with him. Arima chases her, explaining he only wanted to get to know her and never intended to reveal her secret. They reconcile and become friends. Arima subsequently finds himself constantly thinking about Yukino.
