Following the theft of a fishing painting by Kaitou Gentleman, Gouzou is discovered dead near the river despite everyone having an alibi. Hajime devises a trap that captures the thief, who is revealed to be disguised as art magazine journalist Daigi Maki. She denies involvement in the murders and manages to escape. Suspicion arises when Hajime notices the Southern Cross constellation depicted in a painting of a daughter. To investigate this clue, he dispatches his friend Itsuki to the southernmost island of Okinawa, the only location in Japan where the constellation is visible. This investigation aims to uncover the truth behind the theft and the subsequent death.
