Following the initial homicide, guests realize they are cut off from the outside world and that redrum is an anagram for murder. Richard Anderson, a crime psychologist, is killed next. Subsequently, mystery novel critic Kusaburo Bando is discovered hanged alongside a doll, accompanied by a recording claiming he murdered Toma and Anderson. Despite this evidence, Hajime remains unconvinced by the apparent solution. Instead, he directs suspicion toward National Police Inspector Kengo Akechi, accusing him of being the true culprit behind the deaths in the isolated castle.
