Riki and Rin Natsume observe Sasami Sasasegawa with a black cat, prompting her to flee due to embarrassment regarding her friendship with Komari Kamikita. The cat follows Riki to his dorm, where Kudryavka Noumi and Mio Nishizono are present. Sasami later reveals herself to Riki and Masato, explaining she cannot control her transformations. Riki realizes she can only shift forms near him, forcing Masato to leave. Attempts to contact Komari fail, so Riki and Sasami resolve the issue independently. The next day, Sasami feels isolated as others treat her like a real cat, with Komari being the sole believer. On the following day, Riki suspects a parallel world after Rin informs him that Komari has gone missing.
