Shiroe investigates adventurers teleported from the Yamato server like Crusty, finding no trace in other Elder Tale servers, leading him to suspect they returned to reality. Later, Ein, leader of Honesty, loses faith in the Round Table’s ability to manage the city. He accepts an offer from the Holy Westlande Empire to become a duke. Shiroe fears Ein’s defection marks the beginning of the end for the Round Table’s influence and stability.

Ein's New Title as Duke of Akiba Sparks Political Tensions and Secession

Ein’s appointment as Duke of Akiba brings hope to the local populace, yet Shiroe and his allies fear the impact on the Round Table and Akiba’s ties with Eastal. Intics plans to block Nureha’s attempt to ally Minami with the Round Table, aiming to seize the entire Yamato server. Meanwhile, Rayneshia learns from Lord Malves that her marriage to Utena Saiguu Touri, heir of the Saiguu Family, will occur within one week. During the Round Table Conference, Ein explains his acceptance of the title by citing the conference’s inability to enforce authority as a liability, then announces Honesty’s secession. Following the meeting, Shiroe meets privately with Ein, Malves, and Touri to discuss the unfolding political crisis and its implications for the server’s stability.

Ein explains his reasons for leaving the Round Table, citing the People of the Land's lack of representation and announcing that four other main guilds are also withdrawing. Shiroe learns from Touri that the Westlande Senate and Intics are conspiring to start a war against Eastal and Akiba. Both Ein and Touri request Shiroe's cooperation, but Rayneshia interrupts, refusing to marry Touri and asking Shiroe to prevent the Round Table's dissolution, inspired by Crusty's past encouragement. To resolve the conflict, Shiroe proposes holding a general election in Akiba involving all citizens, adventurers included, to determine the city's future direction.

Akiba prepares for an election between the Akiba Government led by Ein and a reformed Round Table represented by Reyneshia. Prior to the campaign, Reyneshia convinces her mother and grandfather to support her independent path. Polls indicate Ein holds a significant lead, bolstered by the Saiguu Family endorsement and damage to Reyneshia’s noble reputation following her refusal to marry Touri. On the eve of the election, Ein acknowledges his advantage but remains cautious regarding Shiroe’s potential strategies to alter the outcome. The narrative focuses on the political maneuvering and personal stakes involved in this critical vote for the city's future governance structure.

On election day, Ein delivers his final address before Akiba's main gate reactivates, allowing thousands of Susukino residents to emerge and cast their votes. During her speech, Reyneshia declares that she, along with Regan and Kinjou, will join the New Round Table to represent the People of the Land if her faction prevails. Confronted by the mass turnout and this revelation, Ein and Utena’s side acknowledges their defeat prior to the final vote count. Consequently, Utena retreats to the west, accompanied by Ein, who solidifies his role as Utena’s trusted friend. This sequence marks the conclusion of the conflict as the opposing party secures victory through democratic participation and strategic political concessions.

Crusty's Curse and Elias's Dilemma in the Chinese Server

Misa and Rieze perform a puppet show for Shiroe, detailing Crusty’s time in the Chinese server. Rescued by a wolf and sheltered by magician Youren, Crusty suffers a curse sealing most powers and memories. Meanwhile, Kanami’s party travels to Yamato to investigate the apocalypse. They include Elias Hackblade, an Ancient Blademancer and level 100 character banned from a nearby dungeon due to a curse preventing attacks on opponents with over a quarter of their maximum hit points. Accusing Crusty of being a Genius, Yourei convinces Elias to fight him. Crusty barely escapes, while Yourei uses her powers to put Elias under her control.

Crusty is rescued by Kanami’s party and attacked by Yourei, Elias, and a Raid Boss controlled by Yourei. Leonardo faces Elias alone while Crusty battles Yourei, who is revealed as the Genius Papus. Kanami defeats the Raid Boss with her party and the Lelang Wolf Cavalry Guild. Crusty recalls being cursed by the Genius Bucaphi after refusing to become his vessel, then sacrifices memories to power his attacks and uses curse loopholes to destroy Papus. Meanwhile, Leonardo convinces Elias that his inability to kill others is a virtue, breaking him free from brainwashing. Crusty joins Kanami’s party as they return to Yamato. After a puppet show, Shiroe deduces that the Geniuses originate from the Moon Server and begins planning how to fight them.

Acting on Shiroe's advice, Rayneshia takes leave from the New Round Table to sail to the Chinese server, aiming to return Crusty and his group. Simultaneously, Minori and her companions befriend sisters Lelia and Litka Mofur, offering them shelter at Log Horizon's guild base. Shiroe, Nyanta, and Tetra initially doubt the sisters, recognizing them as clumsy, troublemaking questgivers from Elder Tale's early days. However, Lelia and Litka reveal they are tracking an unknown monster named Ereinus. This information leads the group to deduce that a Genius is preparing to attack the city.

Shiroe and his companions decide to provide shelter to the Mofur sisters after learning of the impending threat from Ereinus. Because the junior members of Log Horizon have reached a high enough level to participate in raids, they begin training alongside their seniors. During this time, Minori invites Shiroe to shop for supplies, hoping to get closer to him. Meanwhile, Rayneshia discusses expedition details with Misa and Rieze regarding their mission to the Chinese server to rescue Crusty. Some days later, Minori and her friends notice that their seniors are missing. She then realizes that Ereinus is attacking the city.

Ereinus teleports all adventurers in Akiba to an alternate dimension populated by Level 65 monsters, simultaneously reducing their levels to 35. Shiroe deduces that the Genius are exploiting the "Teacher System," which temporarily aligns higher-ranked players' levels with their lower-level companions. After gathering intelligence from Isaac and Rieze, Shiroe meets Lelia and Litka, discovering their levels remain unchanged. This confirms Ereinus' ability only impacts players exceeding level 65. Shiroe then directs the sisters to rendezvous with Minori and Akatsuki, whose level was adjusted to Minori's via the Teacher System, to coordinate a counterattack against the enemy forces.

Akatsuki and Minori reunite with friends from Log Horizon and the Crescent Moon Alliance. Learning that Ereinus waits in the Round Table's Assembly Hall, they form a raid party. The young players fight their way to the Hall and confront Ereinus, gaining the upper hand initially. However, the enemy uses a special ability to remove the players' memories of those they admire most, breaking their spirit. As Ereinus proceeds to wipe out the party, Akatsuki and the Mofur sisters, who remain unaffected by the power, fight back. They inspire the others to recompose and resist the despair induced by the memory loss.

The Nightingale's Song Resolves the Conflict and Sets New Paths

Minori and her allies regroup while Akatsuki, Lelia, and Litka distract Ereinus, allowing them to defeat the Genius by exploiting his weakness. This victory lifts the alternate space, liberating all players. Lelia and Litka choose to remain in Akiba and join Log Horizon. That night, Minori confesses her love for Shiroe, but he reveals he likes someone else, leaving him heartbroken. Her friends console her. Later, Shiroe decides to travel to Minami, and Regan offers to accompany him on this journey.
