Conan and Yumi discover Yasuaki Genda murdered at Hideyoshi’s Shogi study group, with a board missing two legs nearby. Yuhei Kishimoto’s house burns down, revealing a body and a board with three legs cut off. Hideyoshi is kidnapped after noticing a clue at the crime scene and attempting to encourage the killer to surrender. Conan contacts Akai at the Kudo residence, and with Yusaku’s advice, deduces the culprit’s identity but cannot locate them due to privacy concerns. Hideyoshi’s phone is unreachable, lacking emergency contacts. Akai uses a dedicated private line to connect with Hideyoshi, who engages the criminal in blindfolded Shogi. Conan and Akai track Hideyoshi’s location via GPS to orchestrate a rescue operation.
