Ikenami Shizuka engages Mouri Kogoro to locate Shirou Shabata in order to recover an old photograph. Conan deduces that Ikenami is deceiving Mouri during their consultation. Noting Shirou’s proficiency in kendo, Conan searches for records of his participation in past tournaments. This leads the group to Shirou’s apartment, where they discover he has been murdered. The photograph Ikenami sought is found clutched in Shirou’s right hand, which immediately identifies her as the primary suspect in the homicide.
