Ep. 222: Investigation into Saori Kadowaki's Disappearance and the Mermaid Festival Murders
Conan, Heiji, Ran, and Kazuha visit the Isle of Mermaids to find Saori Kadowaki, who requested rescue from a mermaid. After learning she is missing, they interview her childhood friends Toshimi, Naoko, and Kimie, alongside fisherman Rokuro Fukuyama. The group attends an annual festival where three winners receive a Dungong Arrow believed to grant immortality. Kimie provides tickets to Ran and Kazuha after a couple cancels. Kazuha wins an arrow, shared with Naoko and Benzo. The event ends tragically when Toshimi is found dead hanging from a waterfall. While the cause of death remains unclear pending autopsy, Naoko claims Toshimi sought the Mermaid's grave. Later, at Toshimi's funeral, Naoko is strangled, her body displayed on a beach net, and her arrow stolen.
