Ep. 225: Rintaro hires the Junior Detective League to investigate Yuuji Kamekura, a mysterious new employee at his family restaurant.

Yuuji Kamekura arrives at Rintaro’s family restaurant, claiming he owes a debt to Rintaro’s grandfather and seeks employment. He moves in and revitalizes the business, causing it to become constantly busy. The Junior Detective League investigates, suspecting he is digging a tunnel to steal from a nearby store. They learn from a jewelry store manager that a robbery occurred five years ago, with the thief remaining at large. The group deduces Yuuji is excavating jewels he buried five years ago beneath the restaurant, which was under construction at the time. Although Conan rejects this theory, he concedes after Haibara notes Yuuji’s simplicity. The detectives catch Yuuji digging and he confesses. Haibara arrives having called the police, and the Junior Detective League receives letters of appreciation for solving the cold case. Conan remains dissatisfied, believing his intellect should be reserved for more complex mysteries.
