Ep. 229: Conan exposes Muneyuki as the murderer who framed Kikuyo using a rigged necktie and pendant.

Conan identifies suspicious details on a pendant and deduces Muneyuki’s guilt, noting Kikuyo’s 10 million yen debt and insurance motive. While police suspect Kikuyo, Conan incapacitates Sonoko to reveal the truth. Muneyuki killed Motoo, hiding the body in a closet rigged with a necktie and pendant. He sent Kikuyo to open the right door, triggering the trap to frame her, but the corpse fell out when Muneyuki opened both doors. Fingerprints and nail marks on the tie serve as evidence. Muneyuki confesses that Motoo was having an affair with Kikuyo while married to his deceased daughter. He explains that after finding a beige tie, originally a Christmas gift from his daughter, in the trash, he saw Motoo smiling with Kikuyo at the airport, which enraged him. Muneyuki is arrested for murder.
