Agasa brings the Junior Detective League to Teruya Kanou, who is disposing of items before relocating to England. Haibara remains pessimistic, fearing the Black Organization identified her during the prior bus hijacking. Kanou’s Papillon vanishes when the longcase clock strikes twelve. Conan discovers the dog’s collar inside an unused incinerator and notes an open back gate. He deduces the culprit staged the scene to suggest a kidnapping, actually hiding the dog in the house for later theft. Shino Hasuki’s shoes are found near the scene, leading a breeder to suspect her involvement in the disappearance.
