Conan and his friends discover a paper with symbols and the word "Oro" after visiting a treasure exhibit. Initially uninterested, Conan realizes "Oro" means gold in Italian and that the symbols indicate neon signs on buildings. They locate gold coins in an abandoned building while being followed by three suspicious men. Conan devises a plan to capture the men, who are revealed to be Mafia members seeking gold hidden by a traitorous accomplice. After the incident, Ayumi thanks Conan with a kiss on the cheek, while Mitsuhiko and Genta watch with jealousy. The group successfully recovers the treasure and neutralizes the threat posed by the criminals who had been tracking them throughout the hunt.
