Ep. 79: Conan investigates a bank robbery where an employee kills the robber to silence him

After bowling, Rachel, Serena, and a sick Conan visit a bank, meeting employees Barton Spacklecrisp, Nigel Aramont, Martin Shorzlow, and Eddie Crockerly. Barton gives Conan cough drops for his illness. An armed robbery occurs, and a cell phone rings, causing Martin to be shot but survive. Barton kills the robber, Randy Whitman. Conan analyzes cough drop wrappers and a bystander Tave Linster’s recording to deduce that Randy had an accomplice who tried to warn him. Conan reveals Barton as the accomplice and killer, explaining that Barton attacked Randy to maintain silence after the unexpected shooting. Barton provided Randy with the same cough drops given to Conan, linking them. Taken away, Barton claims his motive was justice, as he and Randy served in the same platoon where half the members died due to Randy’s actions.
