Upon entering, he discovers Masamura's dead body at the entrance. While Kogoro attempts to decipher cryptic notes in a notebook, he fails to notice the attacker behind him. The culprit sprays pepper particles into Kogoro's face and knocks him unconscious.

She threatens to call the police unless she is compensated, forcing Kawakatsu to advise Sanada to pay her 30 million yen to silence her and avoid further complications.
