Two weeks later, the group struggles with depleted food sources and Kaoru’s solitary habits. After finding an empty fish trap, Kaoru hunts alone and returns late with a lizard. Luna warns him against working in isolation, emphasizing their collective strength. The next day, the children farm and preserve food, but leftover meals attract a giant lizard. Kaoru attacks the beast and is injured, prompting Luna to distract it. She urges him to value his life. The group devises a plan to eliminate the threat, but both the lizard and Shingo fall into the lake. Luna hears a mysterious voice instructing her to use a nearby spear. She and Kaoru, leaping from a tree, strike the creature together to kill it. That evening, Luna shares her experience of the strange voice with the others during dinner.
