Ep. 9: Joe and allies rebuild Gym Nowhere while Yukiko investigates ROSCO and Mac faces mental struggles
Santa and Bonjiri assist Joe in restoring Gym Nowhere. Meanwhile, Yukiko secretly investigates ROSCO, uncovering discussions with the military regarding BES usage. She confronts Sakuma, demanding undisclosed experiment data on Mac in exchange for her cooperation. Sakuma appears to agree but orders the data to be manipulated before sending it. At the hospital, Liu regains consciousness but is informed he cannot fully recover or return to Megalo-boxing. He tells Joe he will not give up and that they will fight as promised. Joe visits Nanbu's grave and encounters a hostile Sachio, who claims Gym Nowhere died when Joe left years ago and cannot simply return to normal. When a typhoon threatens the gym, Aragaki and Oicho join the group to help secure the building. Mac worries about his ring actions and mental decline, but Sakuma encourages him to remember why he returned to Megalo-boxing.
