As Chief and the community repair a sabotaged water pump, Joe reconciles with Nanbu’s memory. Joe cuts his hair for the next match, where Chief’s acting leads to another knockout. That night, Tetsu’s thugs throw a molotov cocktail into the casa, igniting Chief’s trailer as he rushes inside.

Mio informs Joe that they will preserve Chief's Gear as a memorial. Joe thanks Marla and Mio, then rides away on his bike, determined to confront his past rather than flee from it.

Aragaki later explains that a typhoon over a year ago destroyed the gym, forcing the children to disperse to orphanages or jobs. Sachio sought Aragaki’s training despite lacking natural talent, eventually fighting in underground rings where he suffered defeats. He refuses to speak to Joe upon leaving the arena, maintaining his silence about the past events and his current situation.
