Apr 4, 2021Five years after winning Megalonia, Joe fights as Nomad in underground rings to fund his painkiller addiction. He challenges Chief, a skilled former pro who dominates the circuit. Nomad recognizes Chief from a bar, while Chief seems to know Joe’s identity. During the match, Nomad realizes Chief was paid to lose but still loses by a weak punch. EP 2Nomad seeks refuge with a community after his bike is stolen by a boy.
Apr 11, 2021Nomad chases an immigrant boy who stole his motorbike to an abandoned amusement park community. The boy, Mio, sold the bike and gear to his mother, Marla. Nomad collapses while repairing the bike and wakes up during a festival. A construction crew demands eviction, but Chief convinces them to wait for the auction. Chief admits to Nomad he is not a ranked Megalo Boxer and threw matches for money. Inspired by Gearless Joe, Chief came to this country for a better life. Mio overhears Chief call Nomad Joe and tells mob lieutenant Tetsu. Mob boss Hikawa searches for Joe but finds him gone. Chief plans to win the Megalobox tournament to buy the land. Nomad recalls Nanbu’s death and takes painkillers. Later, Nomad returns to Chief and offers to train, stating he stopped taking drugs.
EP 3Joe confronts withdrawal while Chief fights in the Grand Megalobox Tournament
Apr 18, 2021Joe suffers from painkiller withdrawal and grief over Nanbu’s death. Tetsu harasses immigrants at the casa with Mio’s quiet support to displace them before the auction. The Grand Megalobox Tournament opens, and Joe’s counterpunching strategy aids Chief’s first-round knockout victory. Marla reveals Chief’s past: his wife died early, and his son Carlo designed Chief’s defensive Gear before dying en route to this country. Grief drove Chief to substance abuse until his Gear broke, prompting him to swear sobriety to honor Carlo. As Chief and the community repair a sabotaged water pump, Joe reconciles with Nanbu’s memory. Joe cuts his hair for the next match, where Chief’s acting leads to another knockout. That night, Tetsu’s thugs throw a molotov cocktail into the casa, igniting Chief’s trailer as he rushes inside.

Apr 25, 2021Despite the trailer destruction, Chief escapes with minor burns and the casa's funds, while Mio accepts blame and departs. During the tournament finals, the developer prioritizes payment over outcomes. Mamiya employs illegal tactics against Chief, prompting Joe to intervene. Mio returns to support Chief, enabling a fifth-round knockout. The combined winnings and savings allow Marla to purchase the community land. Chief urges Joe to return to serious Megaloboxing for a future match. However, Chief is found dead in his truck the next day. The community holds a funeral as Marla completes the land transaction. Mio informs Joe that they will preserve Chief's Gear as a memorial. Joe thanks Marla and Mio, then rides away on his bike, determined to confront his past rather than flee from it.
EP 5Promised land answered that there is no messiah
May 2, 2021Joe returns to the ruined Gym Nowhere, triggering memories of his past conflict with Nanbu, who suffered from late-stage cancer. Joe trained extensively to win a match against Edison Liu, Yuri’s student, hoping to fund experimental treatment for Nanbu. However, Sachio viewed this dedication to training as neglecting Nanbu during his declining health. In the present, Joe wakes to an older Sachio attacking him. He accepts the beating without resistance after recognizing Sachio’s face. Aragaki later explains that a typhoon over a year ago destroyed the gym, forcing the children to disperse to orphanages or jobs. Sachio sought Aragaki’s training despite lacking natural talent, eventually fighting in underground rings where he suffered defeats. He refuses to speak to Joe upon leaving the arena, maintaining his silence about the past events and his current situation.
EP 6God offers his image to be stepped on despite admitting powerlessness
May 9, 2021Joe finds a restaurant flyer while fetching water, then witnesses gangsters harass Oicho until Sachio attacks them. The gangsters return, ransack the establishment, and steal the building deed. Fujimaki offers to return the deed if Sachio defeats a stronger opponent. Joe steps in as Gearless Joe, recalling his past loss to Edison Liu and Nanbu’s deteriorating health. He is knocked out in the second round. Upon returning, Joe informs the children of his defeat but reveals he secured the deed through his agreement with Fujimaki. Sachio subsequently orders Joe to leave the premises after the transaction is complete.
EP 7Edison seeks Joe as sparring partner while Mac Rosario reflects on his past
May 16, 2021Edison Liu trains for a bout against Mac Rosario but asks Joe to spar, believing fans still view him as Yuri’s student rather than a pro because he defeated Joe five years ago, not in his prime. Mac discusses his history as an ill-tempered boxer turned cop after paralysis, crediting CEO Ryugo Sakuma and ROSCO’s Brain Encoding System for his return. Joe visits Jimmy’s Gym to train with Edison, but Santa interrupts to film them. Edison vows to fight Joe seriously after Mac. On matchday, Joe and the children attend, though Sachio and Oicho are absent. Yukiko meets her brother Mikio. Mac approaches the ring and stares toward Joe.

May 23, 2021Liu and Mac begin their match, with Liu initially gaining the upper hand. Mac then unleashes a sudden, fierce counterattack known as "Mac Time," defeating Liu and becoming the new champion. Liu is hospitalized with serious injuries, prompting Yuri to express guilt to Joe about imposing her dreams on him. At home, Mac acts erratically and forcibly takes food from his son Miguel. Maya shares her concerns with Sakuma, who attributes the behavior to stress. Meanwhile, Yukiko reflects on a previous conversation with her brother, who suggested that "Mac Time" results from the negative effects of BES on the brain.

May 30, 2021Santa and Bonjiri assist Joe in restoring Gym Nowhere. Meanwhile, Yukiko secretly investigates ROSCO, uncovering discussions with the military regarding BES usage. At the hospital, Liu regains consciousness but is informed he cannot fully recover or return to Megalo-boxing. He tells Joe he will not give up and that they will fight as promised. Joe visits Nanbu's grave and encounters a hostile Sachio, who claims Gym Nowhere died when Joe left years ago and cannot simply return to normal. When a typhoon threatens the gym, Aragaki and Oicho join the group to help secure the building. Mac worries about his ring actions and mental decline, but Sakuma encourages him to remember why he returned to Megalo-boxing.
EP 10Joe accepts Mac's challenge after Liu and Mac inspire him to overcome past failures
Jun 6, 2021Mac challenges Joe to a fight, though Joe hesitates. Yukiko informs the Shirato Group board of her consideration to sever ties with ROSCO due to publicized risks and potential military use of BES. ROSCO head researcher Yoshimura pressures Mikio Shirato to retract his thesis on BES risks, prompting Mikio to advise accepting mistakes. Joe observes Mac visiting Liu in the hospital, where Mac shares how Joe’s journey inspired him. Liu also encourages Joe to accept the fight. Recalling his time with Chief, Joe agrees to face Mac. Liu asks a reluctant Yuri to help Joe prepare, urging him not to blame himself for past events. Joe has an impromptu fight with Sachio, reassuring him that it was not his fault for losing to Liu and leaving everyone behind years ago. Sachio agrees to join Gym Nowhere as Joe collapses.

Upon discharge, Joe celebrates at Gym Nowhere, sharing his journey and promising transparency. He seeks input on accepting Mac’s challenge, likely his career’s end, and the group agrees to support him. Joe decides to fight using Chief’s Gear rather than remaining Gearless. Meanwhile, Mac suffers a mental breakdown after Maya confesses she traded him to ROSCO’s BES experiment for a heart transplant for her son. Sakuma defends Maya’s decision, arguing it enabled Mac’s achievements.
EP 12Mac reflects on his past while Joe trains for a defensive match against him.
Jun 20, 2021A despondent Mac wanders the streets until he encounters a former police colleague who praises his reputation as an officer and Megalo-boxer. This interaction prompts Mac to recall a story about a nomad and a hummingbird, which he once read to Miguel, emphasizing the importance of appreciating what remains rather than focusing on losses. Meanwhile, Joe undergoes training with Yuri and Aragaki, with the children assisting in fitting Chief's Gear. Their strategy prioritizes defensive play to ensure Joe can conclude the fight safely, rather than aiming to defeat Mac. Mac informs Sakuma that he intends to fight on his own terms and leave ROSCO afterward. The narrative culminates with the arrival of the day for the exhibition match.
EP 13Wings carry the wingless, blessings for those with wings
May 27, 2021Yukiko holds Sakuma responsible for BES’s impact on Mac, while Yoshimura provides data to Mikio and Yukiko. Mac and Maya seek to end the conflict without entering Mac Time. Sachio throws in the towel as promised, declaring Mac the winner. Yukiko announces she will open BES technology to the world, steps down from her position, and Sakuma is arrested.
