Ash and Goh travel to the Hoenn Region to study the migration patterns of Beautifly. During their stay, the relationship between Goh and his partner Raboot deteriorates significantly, with Raboot refusing to obey commands and showing clear dislike. While the group rests at the Pokémon Center, Raboot repeatedly sneaks out at night. Ash, Pikachu, and Goh track him to an underground Pokémon Dance Club, where Raboot performs enthusiastically and appears joyful. Misinterpreting this happiness as a desire for freedom, Goh concludes that Raboot is better off without him and decides to release the Pokémon. This impulsive choice leads to unforeseen consequences that prove to be a major mistake for Goh.
