Ash accidentally breaks Snorlax's Pokéball during a battle, leaving the Pokémon Center on the opposite side of the island as the nearest place for help. Ash and his friends must transport Snorlax there to receive care. Complicating matters further, Team Rocket arrives at the location. They are hoarding the island's food supply and demanding Pikachu in exchange for releasing the provisions. The group faces the dual challenge of getting Snorlax to safety while dealing with the antagonists who are using the food as leverage to capture Pikachu.
