Following Daigoro's stabbing, Kenshin confronts the Beni Aoi leader while allies handle the remaining foes. Police arrive to arrest the group after the leader falls. Kaishu catches Tetsuma searching for a hidden money map. Tetsuma attempts to justify his actions but resorts to violence. Kenshin engages Tetsuma in a sword fight, but the desperate man pulls a gun. Daigoro successfully persuades Tetsuma to stop his crimes. Tetsuma surrenders to the authorities to repent for his actions. The episode concludes with the resolution of the conflict and the arrest of the criminals involved in the scheme.
