Ep. 78: Group works at resort after Kenshin loses Kaoru's money and artist seeks inspiration
The group arrives at a forest resort and dines, but Kenshin discovers he lost Kaoru's travel funds. Unable to settle the bill, they agree to work off the debt. That evening, Kaoru and Misao visit the hot springs and encounter a man, initially suspecting him of being a voyeur. They soon learn he is an artist looking for inspiration who asks Kaoru to model for a painting because of her beauty. The artist develops feelings for her, unaware of her love for Kenshin. Misao and Sanosuke challenge the artist to hit Kenshin as a condition for matchmaking. The artist fails to strike Kenshin repeatedly. Realizing Kaoru's love for Kenshin is the source of her beauty, the artist finds his inspiration and completes a portrait. When Kaoru reveals the abstract drawing to the group, they flee in laughter.
