Ep. 15: Ronja confronts her father after Birk is captured and beaten by Mattis

As Bumper recovers from a Borkas arrow wound, Mattis ignores Ronja and Lovis’s pleas to avoid retaliation against the Borkas. Ronja worries her peaceful forest life is ending and discusses the stubbornness of their fathers with Birk. He notes that Sheriff’s men currently prevent total war between the clans, but this balance is temporary. Upon returning home, Ronja discovers Birk has been captured and beaten by her father. She screams that he may steal anything but not people, threatening to leave him. When Lovis attempts to treat Birk’s injuries, Mattis forbids it, calling him devil spawn, leading to a conflict. Ronja spends the night crying and hating her father after he takes the injured Birk away.
