Ep. 14: Kagero’s Cryogenic Past and the Threat of Togetsu’s Lunar Return Plan

Kagero reveals he maintained his physical prime via cryogenic capsules and knew Yakumo Sumeragi, who founded New Himuka after Earth colonization efforts were disrupted by a comet-induced disease creating Others. To escape lunar radiation, survivors diverted the comet’s energy to Earth, forming the Extinction Belt, forcing Kagero to stay behind. After escaping OSF forces through a cavern, the platoons battle an adapted Other. Kagero then explains that Togetsu was established by immigrants seeking to return to the Moon, utilizing cryogenic monitoring and Design Children like Kasane, who possesses Red Strings to control time. Yuito’s possession of these strings remains unexplained. The group defeats the Other, and Kagero admits he is a Togetsu spy intending to sabotage their plan to preserve his own family’s existence. Yuito proposes convincing New Himuka and Seiran to stop Togetsu, while he privately reassures Kasane regarding his father’s death. Meanwhile, Nagi regains memories of Yuito while restrained and sedated.
