Ep. 9: Yuito discovers the horrific truth behind his psionic medicine while evading capture

Fubuki directs Yuito’s team to gather evidence of government illegality for upload to the Arahabaki supercomputer in Suoh. Despite warnings about the danger to the nation’s new hero, Yuito remains resolute and receives full support from his friends. During deployment, the platoon is attacked by Others, forcing Yuito to consume his psionic medicine to boost his abilities and defeat the enemy. Later, the team infiltrates a Seiran facility protected by Kasane’s squad, discovering crates of human brains and ampules of the drug Yuito takes. He realizes the medicine is derived from psionic blood and brains. After a brief skirmish, Arashi allows the team to escape, acknowledging their moral doubts. Naomi, having overheard the scientists, rejects the drug due to its high cost and requests time alone. The team retreats to a cabin, where Fubuki reveals he reported the incident to the government, framing himself as a traitor to his family, who originally built the facility with his and Karen’s suggestion.
