Torogai informs Balsa and Tanda that Chagum is destined to die and that the water spirit egg will hatch during the Spring Equinox while Chagum searches for yamabime fruit. Meanwhile, Shuga finds proof that Chagum is alive and is secretly released from the sacred chambers after Hibitonan leaves. Although Shuga intends to share this news with Sagum, he observes that Sagum is gradually weakening due to poor health and decides against revealing the truth. Shuga purchases a horse and journeys toward the canyon. The episode concludes with Gakai visiting Sagum, who is on the verge of death.
