Balsa receives a duel challenge from former rival Karbo but declines upon meeting him. To provoke her, Karbo hires stone shooter Gyopsal to attack a traveling couple, Tandor and Sena. Balsa shelters the couple in an abandoned hut during a downpour. Gyopsal shoots stones at her all night until sunrise, preventing sleep. When the couple prepares to depart, Balsa explains her predicament. Karbo reveals himself, leading to a fierce duel fueled by Balsa’s overwhelming anger. She slashes Karbo, fearing she may have killed him and thus broken her vow never to take another life.
