Eggman utilizes the Egg Giant-Makan to flee to the crater of a volcanic island. Sonic and his allies follow his trail, descending from the crater into the underground world below. Upon entering this subterranean environment, the group encounters giant, ferocious beasts. The episode's Japanese title bears a strong resemblance to the 1965 sci-fi kaiju film Frankenstein Conquers the World, featuring several homages to that movie throughout the narrative.
