Bone festival preparations are underway while Canon and Sakura reconcile following the recent alien invasion. Tsubaki releases Koyo from a frozen capsule where Chizuru had trapped him in his assimilated state. Islanders celebrate the evening festival, but the next day, pilots discover Koyo has left the base. They barricade him inside a shrine for protection. During this time, Soushi spars with Kazuki, and Kyouhei readies a sniper shot against Koyo. When Canon arrives, Koyo recognizes her clothing and recalls Shoko, which triggers his return to normal from the assimilated state.
