Neo UN secretary general Hester Gallop demands the Alvis base transfer the Fafner Mark Sechs to the Neo UN fleet by submarine. Shoko faints due to anemia, prompting Koyo Kasugai to visit her in the nurse's office, followed by Kazuki and Maya. As the Neo UN fleet nears the island, it comes under sudden attack by a Festum. Kazuki readies himself to confront the enemy while simultaneously protecting the fleet. A second Festum breaches the island's security and begins assaulting the pilots.
