As Kazuki deals with the initial Festum, Shoko pilots the Fafner Mark Sechs to save the island. She attacks the second alien with a mine blade, but it pierces her machine. With no other options, Shoko launches the Festum into the atmosphere and initiates a self-destruction sequence. The other children witness Shoko disappearing along with the attached alien entity.
