To bridge tensions between Westalis and Ostania, spy Twilight assumes the identity of Loid Forger to infiltrate the life of Donovan Desmond. He adopts Anya, a girl with telepathic powers, and enrolls her in Eden Academy alongside Desmond’s son, Damien. When Anya accidentally contacts Minister Edgar, who harbors resentment toward Twilight, she is abducted. Loid rescues her by impersonating an associate and blackmails Edgar using his daughter Karen to ensure their safety. Although Loid initially seeks a superior home for Anya, she persuades him to keep her, and they establish a new residence. Anya successfully passes the entrance examination for Eden Academy. After a chance encounter with Loid, Anya reads Yor’s mind, discovers her true profession, and forces the pair into a partnership. This arrangement allows Loid to appease Yuri and his colleagues at a party, while enabling Yor to attend a job interview. During the event, Loid inadvertently claims Yor as his wife, prompting their joint departure. While fleeing from thugs Loid robbed during a mission, Yor recognizes that Loid accepts her eccentricities and sees the utility of a partner. She proposes making their arrangement permanent. Loid agrees, sealing their vows with a grenade pin as a ring, while the explosion eliminates their pursuers.

When farm animals escape, Yor stuns the lead bull and Anya uses telepathy to calm the herd, earning Henderson's respect. During the interview, Murdoch Swan pressures Anya to choose between her biological mother and Yor, triggering her trauma. Loid abruptly ends the session due to this cruelty. Henderson later punches Swan in outrage. Although Loid believes they failed, Anya trusts Henderson's support. The family waits at home, hoping for positive results from the prestigious school admission process.

Loid rents a castle and recruits fellow agents for a game where he must save Anya from Franky, who acts as the kidnapper. WISE headquarters confirms their participation is vital for Operation Strix. After overcoming obstacles and engaging in a brief, intense fight with a drunken Yor, Loid successfully rescues Anya. They celebrate her admission, and Anya promises to do her best at school for Loid’s sake.

That evening, Yuri, a secret agent for the Ostanian State Security Service, visits Yor after interrogating a WISE informant. Deeply attached to Yor and struggling with her marriage, Yuri questions Loid aggressively but accidentally gets drunk. Loid recognizes the interrogation template used by the Ostanian Intelligence Agency, deducing Yuri's SSS affiliation. Embarrassed by Loid and Yor's awkward hand-holding, the intoxicated Yuri demands they kiss in front of him, threatening to annul their marriage if they refuse.

Loid later destroys the device and reassures Yor that she need not force herself to act like a traditional wife, as long as she is comfortable. They agree to maintain their current dynamic as a pretend family.

Determined to protect the integrity of Operation Strix and silence any doubts regarding their unity, he resolves to visit the aquarium with Yor and Anya on their day off. However, his plans are interrupted when he receives yet another urgent mission from WISE while at the venue, forcing him to balance his cover story with his operational duties in a challenging situation.
