Menator uses a flying machine to pry open gates, allowing Mendoza to enter and capture Kalmec. After the machine reforms, Kalmec escapes to the temple to retrieve the solar unit powering the city. The priest offers the device in exchange for Kalmec standing down, but Kalmec stabs him, asserting that the Olmecs take what they want. Kalmec discovers a component resembling Tao's golden jar is missing from the unit. Removing it triggers a security system that opens the city dome. A ring of solar panels deploys, focusing heat beams from the temple onto Menator's machine and destroying it. Menator survives, and he and Kalmec flee with the solar unit. Esteban and his friends assist the wounded priest. A mini-documentary notes that Catholicism was brought to the Precolumbian population, with St. Francis Xavier and his brothers attempting to convert the Japanese people.
