Ichikawa initiates a Zetsu Nimon by targeting Akagi, proposing a round where both players discard pin and sou tiles. Akagi loses the round but survives the match. In the next round, despite a weak starting hand, Akagi discards unexpected tiles to confuse opponents into believing he holds a strong hand. Unsure if this is a bluff, Ichikawa yields the win to another player by playing into their hand, denying Akagi victory. Although Akagi accumulates points, he cannot reduce Ichikawa's score. Fearing an endless match, Akagi proposes reducing their points to one-tenth, with Akagi holding 5,000 and Ichikawa holding 10,000. Ichikawa refuses, prompting Akagi to cheat to force acceptance of the deal.
