Ep. 3: Shutarou Mendou faces a presidential election duel and a confusing cavern outing with Lum and Ataru.

New transfer student Shutarou Mendou becomes popular with the girls but is opposed by the boys, who nominate Ataru for class president. With the class split evenly, the election ends in a tie, leading Shutarou to propose a duel to decide the winner. In the second segment, Lum, Ataru, Shinobu, and Shutarou visit a cavern during a class trip, each hoping to spend time alone with their romantic interest. A complex love square exists among them, and the boys attempt to separate the group, but their plan fails. Shutarou eventually reveals a personal secret, and when the group becomes lost, Lum uses her powers to illuminate the cave, uncovering something hidden within.
