Jan 7, 2011High school student Yumeji Fujiwara possesses the ability to foresee dreams and nightmares. He recently experiences recurring visions of being pursued by a group of strange felines. After a mysterious girl falls from a tree onto him, she departs to retrieve her hat. Yumeji finds the hat but is instantly transported into his nightmare world, where he is hunted by Chaser John Doe and his feline army, who seek to use Yumeji as a vessel. Cornered by his pursuers, the girl reappears, identifying herself as Merry Nightmare, and engages John in combat. While Merry attempts to question John about returning to her origin, he mocks her and retreats. Subsequently, both Yumeji and Merry return to the real world, escaping the immediate threat of the nightmare realm.

Merry arrives and empowers Minato to assert herself, leading to Ichima’s banishment. Back in reality, Minato proceeds to make friends, while Merry departs alone.

Jan 28, 2011Mei Hoshino, president of the Yumeji literature club, exchanges messages with a mysterious boy named Chris Evergreen. She joins club members Takateru Akiyanagi and Saki Kirishima for karaoke with Merry, while Isana attempts to befriend transfer student Chizuru Kawanami. Later, Mei arrives at the café claiming Chris stood her up, but she begins acting strangely and texting herself. Yumeji discovers Mei is possessed by Chris, who is a dream demon, and pursues her into her daydream. Merry arrives to defeat Chris before he can attack. As Chris vanishes, Mei views him and leaves happily. Consequently, Yumeji agrees to collaborate with Merry to locate nightmares, and she begins working part-time at the café.

They encounter a girl named Yui Kounagi, whom Yumeji assists in retrieving a dropped doll. Yui is the willing vessel for a dream demon named Engi Threepiece, who traps Yumeji and Merry in a daydream. Engi questions them regarding Pharos Hercules before attacking Merry. Merry attempts to send Engi back, but Engi reveals dream demons cannot return, noting her sister died upon entering the real world. Doubting her actions, Merry falters, forcing Yumeji to intervene and take a slash to his chest.

Chizuru fears her memories with Isana will vanish if Lestion uses the weapon. After final exams, Iijima visits the café. Engi summons her daydream for an advantage, but Mistleteinn kidnaps Isana and summons a large tree. Engi attacks with her strongest move, yet Mistleteinn survives and injures her severely. Merry is also overpowered. Yumeji grabs Engi's sword and charges at Mistleteinn.

Apr 8, 2011Lestion sacrifices himself to give Chizuru a bullet that shatters her soul, but Mistleteinn survives and traps Merry in despair. Yumeji uses his dream powers to replicate John's weapon, taking Mistleteinn's attacks while Yui frees Merry. Merry, energized by Yumeji's belief, restores Engi's dream world and heals her injuries. Together they attack Mistleteinn, who swallows Pallette, making her death destroy Isana's dreams. Encouraged by Yumeji, Merry returns Pallette to the dream world and defeats Mistleteinn, sending everyone back to the real world where Isana is safe. Despite Chizuru's shattered dreams, Yumeji believes she can start anew, as humans are not limited to one dream. Their quest continues.
