A follow-up to a previous season, this story takes place two and a half years after a catastrophic event that destroyed a city and caused global turmoil. A senior journalist continues searching for a man known as Vash, now accompanied by a younger assistant and encountering a former associate along the way. With reports of renewed plant thefts, signs point to the involvement of a known criminal group. Meanwhile, the man previously known as Vash, now living under a new identity in a remote town, is visited by a girl carrying a distress message from a distant location. Deciding to resolve a long-standing conflict to safeguard those he cares about, he reenters the unfolding events. As the narrative threads converge, a message arrives from space offering a chance to join a fleet of colony ships from Earth. Amid the public’s excitement, a familiar figure returns, bringing chaos and despair, leading to a climactic resolution for the planet.
