Atom falls into a trap set by Katari and his anti-robot team, who frame him as the culprit for planting a wormhole projector on the airship Minerva. This unfinished matter transfer device, if activated, would send the vessel to the far reaches of space, endangering the humans and Dr. Ochanomizu aboard. Katari's gang intends to make the Minerva disappear and blame the incident on Atom and other robots to incite a movement against them. Although Atom wishes to rescue Dr. Ochanomizu and the passengers, he is restrained and has his energy drained while being falsely accused of the crime.
